Flaithulach Music

"Heather is patient and encouraging in her manner, and everything is always clear and well organised. She can successfully help both the near beginner like me and also the near expert. Heather was recommended to me by one of her satisfied pupils, and I'm happy to do the same."
C.Robinson, Otley.

" My son has been learning piano and ukulele with Heather for three years. Heather is without doubt a superb music teacher. She is creative in her lessons, patient and really taps into my son's learning style which has brought about great results.  My son says he 'absolutely loves' his lessons. I would have no hesitation in recommending Heather to others interested in learning music."
N. Youngman, Thirsk.

"Having moved to Harrogate we needed a new Saxophone teacher for our 14 year old Son. He was beginning to loose interest in playing, until he met Heather!!!   He absolutely loves his lessons and practices now without me asking!!
Thank you so much Heather. Absolutely amazing!!!"
Mrs Burke, Harrogate.

"Heather has been giving tuition to my two sons aged 11 and 13 on the keyboard and tin whistle / fife respectively for around the last year. Sounds like a challenge, teaching lively teenage boys music? Not for Heather, who is a fabulous and talented teacher! Lessons are fun and varied, well paced and flexible according to the needs and interests of the particular child. Both my boys are making excellent progress and enjoying their learning very much. Heather takes a real interest in her pupils' musical development and fosters interest in music from a variety of genres.

If you are looking for a music teacher for your child you don't need to look any further."

"Heather is an inspiring and caring tutor. Our daughter has attended piano lessons now for one year with Heather and is developing into a fine musician. Heather is calm and gentle and encourages learning in a positive manner. Our daughter responds well to her style of teaching and prefers her to her previous tutor, she looks forward to her lessons and is keen to discuss what she has learnt afterwards.

We thoroughly recommend Heather as a music tutor."

"Dear Heather,
Having already visited other music stores it soon became apparent, when asking relevant questions, that I was speaking to someone with an exceptional musical knowledge and ability. This, along with the quality of your instruments and your cheerful enthusiasm, was the reason I immediately decided to purchase one of your guitars and return for other accessories. I am sure any past and future customers will share my views."

"I discovered Flaithulach by chance on a visit to Knaresborough last summer. I was immediately impressed by the range of folk and acoustic instruments stocked and the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the shop. Having tried out a couple of the acoustic guitars, I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the instruments (one was part of a "starter package"-very competitively priced but very playable with a full bright sound, the other a LAG which looked as though it would cost four times the asking price and played and sounded fantastic). On my second visit to the shop in the autumn I purchased one of the "starter package" guitars as a gift for a friend. If i didn't already own several guitars I would have also bought one of the LAG guitars, and I'm still tempted! I bought an Ozark bouzouki for myself, an excellent instrument comparing favourably to instruments costing much more.

I found Heather (the shop owner) to be friendly, very well informed and professional and would highly recommend the shop to anyone.

Heather always searches for the best prices and most suitable instrument. If you don't see what you want she will endeaver to aquire the best deal on your behalf. This is a wonderful little emporium, run by a professional with a big heart.

Still drooling over the low whistle :) Thanks for your kind and patient advice.

Mark M. (Teeside).

Thanks to Heather, I'm fulfilling a long held ambition of learning to play the Saxophone. Being retired I'm possibly one of Heather's oldest pupils, but she is giving me all the confidence and skills I need to succeed...And there I was thinking I might not be able to play a note!
